Most of this site describes uncomplicated singleton pregnancies, because that is what the underlying research measured. A meaningful number of pregnancies sit outside those assumptions, and for them a population estimate is not just imprecise, it is the wrong tool entirely.

The framing throughout is deliberately probabilistic. A risk factor shifts the odds; it does not determine the outcome, and many people with several of them deliver at term without incident. But this is also the section where deferring to your own provider matters most, because these are precisely the circumstances an individualised care plan exists to handle.
